When stationary, the note is perfectly in tune. The farther out of tune, the faster the pattern will rotate. The direction of rotation indicates whether the note is sharp or flat. Play a note and observe the pattern in the LEDs. When the tuner is off, the signal is passed straight through with absolutely no load on the signal. When the tuner is on, the output is muted. The ST-300 will run for 12 hours continuous on an alkaline battery, enough for about 1,000 tune ups. Optionally connect a 9 Volt external power source.
